Kane and Sells

In their line of timeless silk and velvet garments, Mike Kane and Steve Sells utilize Arashi shibori techniques to hand-dye fabrics in a palette hallmarked by colorful intonations and patterns which seem to pour across cloth, allowing the garment to flow in harmony with the body.

Kane & Sells are inspired by many things: travel, architectural elements, and particularly nature ... the patterns of wood grain, reeds at a rivers edge, or ripples on the surface - images which are reflected in the organic, linear patterns of Arashi Shibori.
